Institutionalising youth voice in governance

Find Your Feet CIC supports 1,200+ people through digital programmes and employability training—but lacked a formal mechanism to ensure young people's lived experiences shaped organizational policy, strategy, and partnerships.
We authored a white paper establishing a Youth Advisory Board using a split-board model: an Advocacy Division (stakeholder roundtables, podcasts, social campaigns) and a Policy & Governance Division (youth-authored reports, safeguarding oversight, evaluation). The 12-month implementation roadmap (January–December 2026) included phased recruitment, member training, and integration with core FYF programmes.
2 stakeholder roundtables, 5 podcast episodes, 6+ digital spotlights, 2 public events, 3 youth-authored reports
Triple value created: for FYF (centralized youth voice), for young people (leadership pathways), for stakeholders (authentic insights)
Sustainability built-in: alumni progression pathways, embedded in annual reporting
Regional expansion enabled through partner CICs and local authorities
Youth voice is now institutionalized—not tokenized.
